Kitty Love

Sophia had such a blast in the Kids Corner at Books By The Banks this year. It was our third year visiting and our favorite experience so far, mainly because Sophia was able to participate in everything. She loved dancing and singing, playing instruments, crafting, and getting balloon animal creations. Our first stop was face painting, where Sophia was transformed into a kitty.

We were looking forward to seeing the Pete the Cat mascot (who was missing this year, boo!) and getting some of our books signed by the authors, but lines were long and a certain little kitty was tired from all of the fun.

We headed home to enjoy some quiet time, and 'Princess Kitty Rosie' wanted her picture taken with her babies. Three sure is fun.

Books by the Banks

After celebrating with our neighbor, Sophia and I headed downtown to our favorite books festival: Books by the Banks. We had such a fun time last year and I was looking forward to the event. It was rather crowded when we arrived and the toddler was going through a sugar crash and in need of a nap.

I was looking forward to meeting Marc Brown, but unfortunately things didn't work out. We arrived in time for his talk, but Sophia had little patience to sit for a half hour. The line at his book signing table was quite long so we missed out on that too. She did enjoying dancing and singing during one of the performances.

Sophia did select two new books and loved meeting all of the mascots. She gave each one she saw a hug and a high five.

We will be attending next year if we can!

Little Mascot Sidekick

Sophia and I went to a book festival today - Books by the Banks. We almost didn't go because Little Bean woke up rather cranky, but I am glad we did. The only thing I wish I had more time for was looking at books for me, but Sophia got two new books.

Sophia's favorite parts were Mascot Dance Party and Storytime with the librarian, Arnice Smith. She had great energy!
