One of Sophia's favorite parts of the zoo and aquarium is being able to touch and interact with the creatures. She LOVED this turtle.

Unbridled Fun
We have been waiting for the seahorse exhibit to open at the aquarium and were able to make a trip to see the seahorses this week.
"Mommy, this is the daddy seahorse. They keep the babies in their pouch." |
Thanks to school, octonauts, and some books we have been reading at home, Sophia knows quite a bit about seahorses. She was beyond excited to see the weedy sea dragons, but she loved looking in all of the tanks and insisted that we walk back though the seahorse area before we left the aquarium.
Can't wait to head back!

Adventures with Little Sister
Emma is at that stage where she wants to do everything that her big sister does. One problem is that she can't walk yet. She's close, but she hasn't taken that first step. Luckily she's happy to tag along and watch (and cheer on) big sister.
This weekend while Dave and Sophia were fishing, Emma and I entertained ourselves around the dock and park. Emma's favorite part was watching all of the "duh-gees" and saying "cack cack" to them. {There were very few ducks, right now every bird is a duck.} I didn't take any pictures, mainly because I have yet to perfect the art of the selfie while babywearing.
Before we ate lunch we stopped at the playground to get out some energy. Emma loves the slide and Sophia loves going down a double slide with her sister. I get such a kick out of the facial expressions she makes.
Emma enjoyed watching the boaters and people fishing and she even found time for a nap.
Love this sweet girl and I hope she is always up for adventures - especially once she is actually able to participate.

Fishin'
Last week Dave took Sophia to get a fishing pole. After lots of practicing how to cast in the backyard, she got her first real fishing experience on Sunday.
We spent about five hours at Lake Isabella, but Dave and Sophia only caught a few sticks and trees, no fish.
The whole time we were there we only saw two fish caught. I guess that is why they call it 'fishing' and not 'catching'.
Even though they didn't catch any fish, it was still a good day.
