Five on Friday

I am back with April and the Ladies for another Five on Friday.

One

I never win anything but I actually {almost} won something from a giveaway. Way back in August I entered a giveaway on Cuckoo 4 Design for animal pillows that I thought would look great in Dave's man room. I just found out that I could have won them! I was notified that I won through my 'other' inbox folder on facebook. I didn't even know there was an 'other' folder. Unfortunately, I needed to respond within 24 hours and I didn't see the message until this week. 

Two

We tried a new restaurant - Fusian. I was impressed with how they handled my gluten free rolls. Everything is made in front of you as you order and customized to your liking. Sophia tried sushi for the first time. She started with the peanut butter and jelly roll and then sampled some of the less spicy options we ordered. She couldn't fit the roll (even cut in half) into her mouth so she ate deconstructed versions. She was very interested in chopsticks, but she kept trying to use them as straws.

Three

We became members at the Cincinnati Zoo. I am so excited to visit frequently (we've already gone twice this week!)

Four

Before Dave became a chef I had no clue about the realities of being married to one.

The hours are long.

He is rarely home for dinner or bedtime.

He has little desire to cook on his days off.

We make it work for us.
Dave has been fortunate that he has had Thanksgiving and Christmas off...until this year. The restaurant is going to be open on Thanksgiving. Boo. I am hoping that there are not enough reservations to make it worthwhile.

Five

I have yet to find a pumpkin recipe that I like. I have tried three this week and they were just alright. If you have a favorite pumpkin recipe, please share!
