Emma Layne {seven months}

Emma since you turn eight months in a little over a week I guess it would be a good time to post your seven month update.

Emma Layne,
You are seven months old today (September 6, 2015)!
Here are your stats:
Weight: 19 pounds 4 ounces
Head: 15.25 cm

You have dark hair and blue eyes.

You wear size three diapers and twelve month clothing, some of which is starting to get snug.
You continue to nurse on demand, about every three to four hours during the day. You didn't have any bottles this month, but you have started exploring a sippy cup with water. So far it just makes you mad.

You started eating last month and, surprise, you love food! You just started eating lunch and dinner every day. We are doing a baby-led approach to eating and it is a little messier, but so much easier than making all of your food. We haven't quite gotten to the point where you eat what we eat, but it is not too far off. So far you have eaten avocado, banana, sweet potato, watermelon, apple, cauliflower, blueberries, eggs, pear, and kiwi. You tried chicken and raspberries and did not care for either.
Your sleeping habits could still use some improvement. On a good day you take two good naps - one in the morning and one in the afternoon and sleep at night for at least six hours. But normally you are a catnapper and wake two or three times at night. You are officially moved into your own room and sleep with your pacifier, bunny, and white noise at night.

You may not be the best sleeper, but you are such a happy baby. I love how you kick your legs when you get excited and you do it all the time. You have started to get frustrated when you don't get what you want and we have also started to see a bit of separation anxiety, but you are easily soothed.
You are still very chatty and constantly making noises. Sophia continues to be your favorite form of entertainment.

You started sitting up independently this month which has been such a game changer. You like to sit in high chairs and shopping carts and I can't wait to get you in a back carry in our lillebaby. You love to stand with assistance and continue to prefer anything but time on your belly. You scoot backwards, but fuss the whole time.
No teeth have made an appearance yet, but the chewing on everything has entered a whole new level. Maybe this month will find you with your first tooth.

You love to be social and get attention from people when we are out. You smile easily, but also play shy when you are unsure of someone new. We still get lots of comments about your rolls (and we call you Chunk more than we should). You love the dogs and offer them your hands to lick while you are eating, but you are not a fan of them barking. It is one of the few times you pout and cry.
Your favorite time of day is bath time. You splash and smile the whole time and cannot get enough of the water.

Sophia loves everything about you. Now that you can sit up she spends even more time playing with you and being your entertainment. She takes her role as big sister very seriously and has started teaching you all of the important things you need to know.
Baby Sunshine, thank you for continuing to light up our days. We love you right up to the moon and back!

Note to self: right before naptime isn't the ideal time for pictures.
