Sophia: two point five

Sophia,
You are two and a half today (August 28, 2014).
You weigh about 30 pounds and are very tall and skinny. You have brown eyes and red curly hair that you hate to get brushed. You will easily wear bows, but it is a battle to style your hair any other way.
We decided to potty train you while the weather was warm which went great for about a month and then you started to request diapers again. I know that you will be diaper free when you are ready.
You have gotten too tall for most of your 2T clothing and are wearing 3T for most of your clothes. If you had your way you would go without clothes most of the time.
You are a great eater, but veggies continue to get hidden in smoothies, since you don't eat as many as I would like. You eat a 'normal' diet, but most of your meals are gluten free since you are eating at home with me.
Although you are a great sleeper, it does take you awhile to fall asleep. You entertain yourself in your bed with your books and stuffed animals. You take naps most days and sleep between ten and twelve hours a night. We converted your crib and you adapted very well. I had fears that you would run around during your rest times, but once you are in bed you usually stay put.
You talk constantly. Not all of what you say is clear, but within context we can usually figure out what you are trying to say. I love that your sign language still shows up every once in awhile while you are talking.
You continue to love books and reading. Your favorite TV shows are The Little Einsteins and Daniel Tiger. You also love a few of the shows on Disney Junior. Your favorite movies are Frozen and Jungle Book although you don't watch a whole movie in one sitting.
You love to play outside and would swing all day if I let you. You have so much fun at gym class and I love watching you practice the skills at home. You still haven't mastered a forward roll, but you are so close. You love to 'talk' on the phone and call Daddy at work. You love to sing and constantly request your favorite songs. My favorite is when you make up your own songs. You dance almost every time you hear music and are constantly on the go.
The past few months have been challenging. You are constantly testing the boundaries to see what you can get away with. You can get rather emotional, but are getting much better at calming yourself down. Luckily for us you are also so loving and sweet.
I can't believe how fast the past two and a half years have gone by - especially the past year that I have been home with you. Thank you for making every day fun. Your Daddy and I love you to the moon and back.

34/52

Sophia had her first visit to one of our local farms. She was obsessed with the free range chickens and was rather upset when it was time for us to leave.

Jump! Jump!

We visited Sky Zone with our neighbors for some trampoline time. It was Sophia's first experience with jumping on a trampoline, and although she was a little slow to adapt, she had so much fun.
Her favorite part was the foam pit (it was also my favorite part, since it was the only time I got to jump while retrieving a toddler who didn't want to go home).
I'm already looking forward to our next visit.

Sophia had her first experience with feeding the ducks this week. After feeding these two lovelies, they followed her down the path hoping for more bread.
