eighteen months {emma layne}

Emma Layne,
You are 18 months old!
Here are your stats:
You weigh 23 lbs 5.5 oz (61st %ile)
You are 32 in tall (57th %ile)
Your head measures 48.25 cm (93rd %ile)
You have dark curly-ish hair and hazel eyes. Your often rock a 'pebbles' ponytail in the front and although you tell me bows are pretty, you don't keep them in very long. You are wearing 2T clothes. You lost some more of your rolls so we dropped back to size four in disposable diapers. You wear cloth diapers during the day and disposables at night. We recently introduced you to a little potty. No plans for potty training for awhile, but you are interested in what happens in the bathroom and frequently tell us when you are going to the bathroom.
You are up to twelve teeth and working on more. You are still a great eater, but you have gotten much pickier about what you eat. You will try food and then spit it out and tell me it is yucky. You drink out of any cup you can get your hands on - your favorite being whichever one Sophia is using. You are still nursing at least twice a day (but sometimes much more often) and there does not seem to be an end in sight.
You are great at getting around now. You walk, dance, spin, climb and try to run and jump, You like riding on your little tricycle and wish you were big enough to use the scooter and pedal a bike. We still use our lillebaby carrier, especially when you are tired, but you prefer to ride in the stroller and push car when we are out.
Sleep has improved tremendously! You typically go to bed around 7 at night and sleep until 7 in the morning. Until a few weeks ago you were still taking a morning and an afternoon nap, but now you just nap in the afternoon. You fall asleep pretty easy on your own with your pacifier and lovey, but you like to have books and babies in your bed with you.
You are talking all of the time. Most of your chattering is nonsense still, but you have almost fifty words that you say regularly. Words we hear frequently are: 'mine', 'this', 'help, mama', 'open', 'up', 'peaz', 'di di' (thank you), 'bye bye'. You still use a few signs, please and thank you being the ones we see most often. We have been encouraging to use words more often so we are signing less. You love to sing and you do my favorite rendition of 'Let It Go'.
You are happy, silly, and love to smile and laugh. You do have a bit of a temper, but it is quite cute (now anyway) to watch you pout, cross your arms, and stomp your foot.
Sophia adores you and does a great job of including you when she is playing. You try to copy everything she does (which is where you learned how to act when you are frustrated) and get quite upset that you are unable to do everything that Sophia can do.
Baby Sunshine, we love you right up to the moon and back!
