Draft Day!

Dave LOVES the NFL Draft and starts a countdown as soon as football season ends. You think with a countdown I would be prepared for this important day - nope!
The draft starts on Thursday evening and runs through the weekend.
Her cheerleader outfit is super cute, but a little big.
Wednesday I started scouting out girly Eagles gear for Sophia. I think I would have been successful in Pennsylvania, but in North Carolina I had no such luck. I would have been happy to find a regular football onesie. After scouting out Sports Authority, Buy Buy Baby, Old Navy, and Target I headed to Joann Fabrics to see if I could make something.

I am not crafty, but after wandering around the store FOREVER I found hope. First I had stickers that I planned on decorating a onesie with. But I decided to take it to the next level and bought iron-ons.They didn't have Eagles green so I went with pink glitter letters and a football. I think it turned out pretty well!
Couldn't get the picture to turn :/
L.O.V.E. this cutie.
I think Dave was quite surprised with the outfit...and my attempt at football food (only sausage balls and loaded nachos). During the draft one of my friends tweeted that her husband compared the draft to Christmas for pro football fans. Dave agrees and even went so far as to say that he enjoys the draft more than regular season games. If you saw the look on his face when the Eagles traded up to take a player he wanted you would have seen pure joy. Me, I'm just along for the ride.
Sophia and Dave were glued to the television.

Happy little lady.
Go Eagles!

Two Months

Sophia,
You are two months old today (April 28, 2012).
Here are your stats:
Weight: 9 lbs 13 oz (25%)
Length: 21 3/4 in (25%)
Head: 38 cm (25-50%)

You are wearing size one diapers.

You are wearing 0-3 month clothing. Some of your newborn clothes still fit, but not for much longer!

You have been eating almost every two hours during the day thanks to a growth spurt. You were lasting 3-4 hours before the growth spurt.  When you take a bottle you are eating 4-5 ounces.

You have been sleeping about 7 hours at night, but have had a few nights where you slept a lot longer than that.

We still don't have a formal schedule, but we have a good routine. I can read you so much easier now and that makes such a huge difference.

My favorite thing about this month are the smiles! I love when you respond to our voices with a huge smile. Your noises are so fun and I love it when you coo and respond when we talk to you.

You still love to sleep but are awake more often. You do great at tummy time and have a noise you make when you have had enough. You are constantly moving your arms and legs around. Your hands are always grabbing onto something.
You get fussy when you are tired, hungry, and gassy but are very easy going other than that. You take a pacifier when you are fussy, but tend to spit it out before you fall asleep. You have found your thumb a few times but usually end up sucking on your whole hand.

You are sleeping swaddled in our room still but now that you are consistently sleeping through the night we are getting ready to move you to your crib in your own room.

We love you so much!
Your monthly comparison.

Eight Weeks

A very unhappy little lady.
This week started with some recovery time. We still have not developed a formal schedule, but we have a good routine going. While Grandmom was in town we spent a lot of time out of the house and after she left we had a few rough days while were getting back into our normal routine. Sophia is going through a growth spurt and has had some major cluster feeding, which added to the fun. I must say that if I was on the fence about breast feeding, eating all.the.time. would have made me switch to formula super quick.

I am thrilled that the smiles have finally arrived. I have yet to capture a good one with the camera. She is even giving complete strangers big toothless grins.
Say "cheese"!

Sophia and Nana doing "so big".
Grandpop and Nana flew in and spent a few days with us.
Bouncing on Grandpop.
Sophia developed a little bit of cradle cap. Nana suggested olive oil and it cleared it right up. The dogs also thought the olive oil was a great idea!

Dave's cousin sent us some presents this week. My favorite - a Moby wrap. Having a carrier makes it so much easier to get things done around the house when Sophia wants to be snuggled.
This is the best of the numerous pictures I took.
I have the shakiest hand when I try to take self-portraits.

All wrapped up next to Mommy.
Here are some more pictures from this week. Picture overload :)
Boppy photo shoot. Love this sweet face!

All wrapped up in her new blanket from GG.
Sending texts with Daddy.

Hanging out at the backdoor with Kona.
The bouncy seat is our new favorite toy from Lisa.
These swaddles are awesome for the middle of the night when I am barely awake.
Looking like a little larva.

First trip to Brixx. Sophia slept the whole time.
We got seated in the 'kiddie section' - which was not the most pleasant dining experience.
The sign says drink beer, save money.

Seven Weeks

Sleeping in her favorite position - with her hands by her face.
Sophia is starting to get MUCH easier to read now. She is much more content when she is awake and this week was enjoyable. Sophia can be very serious - she is still smiling all the time when she is sleeping, but not smiling much other than that.
Cuddling with Grandmom.
Sophia met her Grandmom this week. She flew in from Pennsylvania to spend a few days with us.
Not the best picture, but the only one I took.
Brunch at Zada Jane's - yum!
Sophia also met her 'Uncle' BV when he was in town for a wedding. BV is going to help Sophia learn how to be a foodie :)
Daddy and daughter sleeping after she spent some time screaming in his face :)
This is how I found them after my doctor appointment.
I had my post-partum check up this week and all is getting back to normal. Pregnancy can be very cruel to the female body :)

Here are some other pictures from this week.
First trip to Bad Daddy's for Dave and Sophia.
She slept through our meal and woke up to eat before we left.
Swinging in the hammock and smiling at Daddy.
Daddy-daughter cuddle time.
Snoozing in the sun on a rather chilly visit to the park.
I will try to do better about my updates. I am not on the computer very often. Thank goodness for smartphones. Aside from updating my blog, I am not missing very much.

Six Weeks

Late night snuggle time with Daddy
I will say it again. Time flies with a little one. I can't believe it has already been six weeks. I am so thankful for the time I have at home, just wish I was a bit more productive. Even when she is sleeping I am so distracted and spend a lot of time taking every moment in.

Sophia outgrew some of her newborn clothes this week and moved up to size one diapers. I was trying to use up the last of the newborn diapers but after a few leaky diapers I gave up on that thought. Size one diapers look HUGE, but thankfully no out-of-diaper experiences.

She also decided to become a sloppy eater this week. There are very few feeding that are neat anymore. I have been out of the house more and feeding in public more often and very thankful that I have had sweaters with me. I see why dark prints are recommended for nursing moms. Shame my wardrobe is mostly solid colors.

Be prepared for picture overload :)
L.O.V.E.
Cheesy :)
She is moving around much more. We have LOTS of blurry hand and foot pictures.
First trip to the farmers market on a chilly Saturday.
Still slim on farmers, but we got our fresh goat cheese, veggies, and plants.
Beanie babies :)
We met Sygrid for Chick-Fil-A.
Bunny hat.
All dressed up.
Bows make gender-neutral look a little more girly...but loving the chevron print!
Hunter is still keeping his distance...this is about as close as he likes to be.
Kona is more comfortable - kissing her hand.
Working hard during tummy time.
