Halloween Pajamas 2015

I may have missed the link-up this year since I haven't been making time to sit at the computer and blog, but I still have to share my little ladies in their matching jammies.
I remember when I thought it was challenging to get one little lady to cooperate for the camera. Here is a look back at {2013} and {2014}.

Emma Layne {eight months}

Emma Layne,
You are eight months old today (October 6, 2015)!
You didn't have a doctor appointment this month so no updated stats, but our trusty home scale says that you weigh about 21 pounds.
You have light brown hair and blue-grey eyes.
You are wearing the last of your size three diapers during the day and size four at night. Your clothes are twelve and eighteen months, depending on the brand.
You continue to nurse on demand - every three to four hours during the day. You have no interest in bottles or sippy cups, but we will be using them more frequently this month (maybe).
You eat two meals a day - lunch and dinner. If breakfast time wasn't so hectic, you would be eating solids then too. You feed yourself, and get frustrated if one of us tries to help you. You also get frustrated when your mouth is full and you still want to eat more (but that usually only happens with apples). So far you like every food you have tried with the exception of paw paws - we didn't really care for them either. New this month was an extensive number of fruits and vegetables. We gave you strawberries, eggs, and peanut butter this month as well. You also had your first taste of dog food.
Although I will probably regret typing this, night time sleep has shown a huge improvement this month. You have been waking up around 3 and 6. You take a short morning nap and two longer naps throughout the day. You are still pretty flexible and don't get thrown off too much if you miss one of your naps if we are out.
You mastered the stretch this month. You can sit and extend your arms further than I thought possible. You can go from a sitting position to on your belly, and then to all fours. You haven't moved forward yet, but you can scoot backwards and in a circle like a champ. We have discovered that dog food and Sophia's toys are great motivators. You are so close to crawling and pulling up on things. Rolling over still isn't your favorite thing. You have also entered the fun stage of trying to stand whenever I try to sit you down on the carpet.
You are very vocal and love to chat and sing. We have great long babbling conversations. I love how observant you are. You live up to the name Baby Sunshine and everyone remarks how happy and easy going you are.
Sophia absolutely adores you. She looks for you first thing in the morning and loves to play with you (on her terms, of course). Her favorite thing to do this month is to squish your cheeks, and you are so tolerant when she does it throughout the day.
Baby Sunshine, we can't imagine our lives without you. Thank you for being such a fun and easy going addition to our family. We love you right up to the moon and back!

Fall on the Farm: Blooms and Berries

I have an informal fall bucket list, but visiting the pumpkin patch was at the top of the list and it got crossed off over the weekend. We made our first trip to Blooms and Berries and had so much fun. Our time was cut a little short because of football, but Sophia loved exploring some of the farm and picking out her pumpkin.
After climbing on hay bales and riding on farm equipment, Sophia and Dave hopped on the cow train. How they both squeezed themselves onto Bessie is still a mystery to me. I really wanted a few pictures of the girls with the sunflowers, but quickly gave up on my vision of what the pictures should look like. Sophia was in the mood to explore and wanted little to do with getting her picture taken.
Sophia is the perfect age for all of the activities that are set up. She loved exploring the playground areas, racing ducks and eggs, checking out the animals, and stopping at all the photo ops.
"Mommy, you be the Big Bad Wolf!"
While Sophia played on the awesome tire swings and spider web, I snapped a few pictures of Emma with the squash.
We ended our visit to the farm with a hayride out to the pumpkin patch. I told Sophia she could get whatever pumpkin she could carry. She lifted a few before settling on one. Emma was far more intrigued by the grass than the pumpkins.
Sophia wants to head back and swing on the tire creations again. I will definitely be checking out the corn maze on our next visit.
